Here are our debate questions for Harris and Trump
Politico | staff | 09/10/24

Tuesday night's presidential debate offers voters their first-ever opportunity to watch Kamala Harris and Donald Trump take questions on the same stage about the ins and outs of their policy pronouncements - from the GOP nominee's vows of mass deportations and newfound embrace of legalized pot to the Democratic hopeful's calls to crack down on high housing costs and price-gouging.

So here is POLITICO's primer on some of the policy questions that ABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis may want to ask Harris and Trump - and how they might push the candidates beyond their easy talking points:
Taxes
Energy
Ukraine
Israel and Gaza
Education

Housing
Health care
Artificial intelligence
TikTok

Phase Two of Trump's Project 2025 | Powered By Rainbows | 09/07/24 | 21:55

Project 2025 is a 920 page Manifesto that cost $22 million to write. It calls for the end of democracy in the United States and Donald Trump to be named dictator, but the second phase of the project is much more secretive and that's because it's by far more scary.

In a previous episode We examined project 2025 a 920 page Manifesto written by the farri extremist hate group called The Heritage Foundation. They are a nonprofit that through careful planning and the endorsements of former Republican presidents including Donald Trump has six of its own members on the US Supreme Court out of the nine members of that court. In that episode we also examined Trump's agenda 47 listed on his official campaign website and saw tons of similarities between the two ...

Inside Harris' high-risk, high-reward debate against Trump
Axios | Alex Thompson | 09/10/24

For Vice President Harris, tonight's debate against Donald Trump is a high-risk, high-reward moment that will test whether her re-introduction to voters can carry her to the White House.

Why it matters: Most voters already know how they feel about Trump, but fewer know how they feel about Harris.

Harris needs many of those voters - including some independents, anti-Trump Republicans, older white voters, Latinos and African Americans - to take down Trump on Nov. 5.

In the debate she'll try to show that she's not the "dangerously liberal" candidate that Trump calls her, but is the more moderate, seasoned version of herself that she's been selling in her brief campaign.

And though she's been vice president for 3-1/2 years, she'll aim to cast herself as a candidate of change - and portray the former president as a divisive voice of the past. ... Read more

Robert Reich Mashups
Robert Reich

In an interview with The New York Times in 2008, Reich explained that "I don't believe in redistribution of wealth for the sake of redistributing wealth. But I am concerned about how we can afford to pay for what we as a nation need to do [...] [Taxes should pay] for what we need in order to be safe and productive. As Oliver Wendell Holmes once wrote, 'taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society.'"

In response to a question as to what to recommend to the incoming president regarding a fair and sustainable income and wealth distribution, Reich said: "Expand the Earned Income Tax Credit—a wage supplement for lower-income people, and finance it with a higher marginal income tax on the top five percent. For the longer term, invest in education for lower income communities, starting with early-childhood education and extending all the way up to better access to post-secondary education."

Reich is pro-union, saying: "Unionization is not just good for workers in unions, unionization is very, very important for the economy overall, and would create broad benefits for the United States." Writing in 2014, he stated that he favors raising the federal minimum wage to $15/hr across three years, believing that it will not adversely impact big business, and will increase higher value worker availability.

Lindsey Graham

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said the quiet part aloud on why he’s still so close to former President Donald Trump: because we can use him for our goals. "President Trump has gotten people who wouldn't give me or Romney or anybody else the time of day. They believe he is on their side," the senator told the America First Agenda Summit crowd on Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
